GENERAL DESCRIPTION: This position reports to the Shop Superintendent. Must work well with others but also have the ability to work independently. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS: Initial assignment qualities and responsibilities to include: - Safely and efficiently operate overhead cranes with proper cables or straps according to load requirements. - Safely and efficiently operate a forklift. - Safely and efficiently operate hand and power tools. - Review shipping papers for inbound and outbound shipments. - Ability to climb ladders to access truck beds. - Proper handling of incoming and outgoing products i.e., identify damage, weighing of rolls, staging of rolls, etc. - Basic computer skills required. - Carpentry skills required (building and maintaining roll crates).
