Job description

The purpose of this classification is to perform semi-skilled masonry work at the journeyman level to construct, maintain and repair roads, sidewalks, curbs, drainage systems, and related projects for the County. Essential Functions: The following duties are normal for this position. Other duties may be required and assigned. Performs a variety of semi-skilled masonry work to construct, maintain and repair roads, sidewalks, curbs, footings, walls, catch basins, ramps, storm drains, etc.; reads blueprints, pours concrete and footings, , builds and lays forms and supports, lays brick, seals grout and concrete, etc. Determines amount of materials needed to complete projects and gathers equipment, tools, parts, and supplies;monitors inventory levels and initiates requests for new or replacement materials as required.
