Job Description Reporting to the Hokie Stone Manager, the Assistant Stone Mason will assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance activities associated with Hokie Stone building envelops and site walls to maintain the structural integrity of those systems and components. The Assistant Stone Mason will also assist with scaffold erection. Required Qualifications: •Must be able to perform heavy manual labor, including safely moving and handling items up to 100 pounds, or more with assistance; climb and work from elevated workstations such as ladders and scaffolds; work for long periods of time sitting, standing, walking, reaching, bending, pushing/pulling; and work in all types of weather conditions, including extreme temperatures. - Must have a valid driver's license. - Will be required to operate a motor vehicle daily - Ability to communicate effectively, work as an effective team member, and receive and execute instructions from the immediate supervisor and/or lead worker. - May be required to work additional hours/shifts to meet the needs of the department. - This is a designated emergency personnel position.
