Scheduled Hours 37.5 Position Summary: The major purpose of this position is to design and conduct advanced applied mathematics research to develop, analyze, and implement quantitative methods and models that advance the institution’s scientific and strategic goals. Job Description: Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Conduct theoretical and applied research in applied mathematics. Develop, write, and contribute to grant proposals to secure external and internal research funding. Initiate and maintain collaborative research projects with internal and external investigators. Supervise and mentor postdoctoral researchers and students involved in related research activities. Develop course syllabi and related instructional materials in applied mathematics. Perform other duties as assigned in support of the research and academic mission of the institution. Working Conditions: Primarily works in a standard office and/or research computing environment with typical physical demands (prolonged periods of sitting, keyboard and computer use, reading, and screen time).
