Position Overview: - Department: Birth Suites - Schedule: PRN, Nights - Work Location: UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham What You Will Do: Facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures - Prepares surgical operating suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies. - Hands required and requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery. - Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients. - Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitors and tracks instruments counts throughout procedures. - Assist surgeons provision of hemostasis during surgery What You Will Need: Education: High school diploma equivalency AND completion of a surgical technologist program with a clinical component OR a minimum of 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required. Associate's degree or technical degree preferred. - BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Additional Preferences: No additional preferences.
