Job Description The mission of the New York City Police Department is to enhance the quality of life in New York City by working in partnership with the community to enforce the law, preserve peace, protect the people, reduce fear, and maintain order. The Critical Incident Stress Management Unit (CISM) mission is to provide ongoing support to members of the service who respond to or are involved in critical incidents. Participants meet with qualified Mental Health Professionals to debrief an incident and receive ongoing support and training in a confidential and supportive environment. The program collects and maintains key program performance/outcome measures/dashboard to inform trauma mitigation, support initiatives, and suicide prevention.
