Overview Delivering 1 COLUMBIA and 2 VIRGINIA Class submarines each year is critical to our nation’s defense, and D931 needs you to help us achieve it! The Industrial Engineering Organization provides mission-critical support to EB Leadership and the functional organizations through implementation of the EB Production System, developing and managing the organization’s improvement strategies, measuring the impact of improvement activities, and establishing the processes for the simultaneous build of VIRGINIA and COLUMBIA class submarines. The Industrial Engineer (IE) ensures the efficiency and effectiveness of manufacturing processes on the deck plate. Partnering with Operations Management (Ops Manager, Superintendent, & Supervisors), and Production Control Planners, the IE shares ownership of manufacturing performance. The IE oversees the initial implementation and sustained execution of production processes for their work center or product line, ensuring processes support production goals.
