Onancock, Virginia Overview: Radiation Therapist I performs standard procedures in Radiation Oncology to include all aspects of radiation treatment within the scope of a radiation therapist including the following procedures: radiation treatment delivery to include Cone beam CT, (CBCT), intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), volumetric arc therapy (VMAT). What you will do: Applies ionizing radiation in accordance with the prescription and instructions from the radiation oncologist. Performs standard radiation treatment procedures to include 3D, IMRT/VMAT and Image guided treatment delivery. Performs tasks associated with standard and cone-beam imaging and accurate positioning utilizing available tools in the system. Documents all information for patient treatment(e.g. scans, set up instructions, other appointments), and communicates appropriately at hand-off. Checks prescription and plan for accuracy prior to treatment. Ensures all required QA has been performed and reviewed prior to treatment. Verifies completion and accuracy of consent.
