What You Can Expect As a Power Grid Modeling Advisor, you will report to Congestion Trading Director and will develop long term grid scenarios for the California Independent System Operator (CAISO)/Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC) footprint and forecast nodal price curves using production cost modeling tools. - Develop and execute appropriate scenario studies pertinent to the period of study and systematically analyzing the results - Execute production cost models - Day-Ahead Locational Market Clearing Prices Analyzer (Dayzer) by systematically analyzing and updating the inputs as appropriate - Develop systematic and repeatable approach to analyze and form fundamental views with respect to macro-trends - Analyze and determine drivers of Day Ahead and Real Time congestion market outcomes based on macro-fundamentals (supply, demand, renewables) and micro-fundamentals (specific transmission and generation outage impacts, bids, facility limits) - Identify model gaps by calibrating the model results to market outcomes and determine appropriate solutions - Recommend and implement process improvements to the enhance fundamental trading. - Participate in Independent System O...
