Amador Valley Industries , a Waste Connections company, is looking for a safety conscious Heavy Truck Mechanic to join the team in Livermore, CA! Previous waste experience would be a huge plus ! The shift will be Monday - Friday plus every other Saturday 12pm-8:30pm . This is a union position with a pension plan, plus fully paid benefits (medical, dental, vision) for employees + dependents. The pay range for this job category is fixed at $54.06/hour. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform engine, transmission and hydraulic pump overhauls. Read wire schematics and perform electrical troubleshooting. Perform repairs and assigned preventative maintenance services. Performs inspections, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, hydraulics, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment. Utilize vehicle computer electronic systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs. Collaborate with other diesel mechanics: Complete required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
