This position is assigned to the Sewer Department JOB SUMMARY: The Maintenance Technician I performs ordinary, labor-intensive tasks commonly related to water and sewer system construction and maintenance. Also assists operator in any way necessary to complete the job. Must be able to work on-call duty. Must be available to respond at any hour during an emergency when requested. QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: - High school diploma or equivalent required. - Must possess a valid Class "C" Driver's License or higher. - Must possess a valid Texas Class "A" Commercial Driver's License or be able to obtain valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's permit within 90 days of hire date and obtain Texas Class "A" Commercial Driver's License within one year from hire date. - Must be able to obtain a Class I sewer collection license and a Class D water license within one year of hire date.
