Forge Shear operator- 2nd shift

Job description

Position Purpose: Responsible for loading steel into Shear and cutting to proper length. Hourly rate: $17.25 - $20.35: Essential Functions: - Load bundles onto shear. - Pulls tag off bundle and records information onto the shear report. - Gets a new heat code for that bundle. - Tags boxes with proper information for part number, heat code, date, and initials. - Pull a 19’ bar through shear to backstop cuts bar. - Takes that bar and checks measurement with ruler or tape ruler to make sure for proper length of shear report. - Make sure the shear is making a clean cut if not get supervisor to change blades. - Make adjustment to backstop if needed for correct length. - Pushes bar through again to backstop make another cut check length again. - If length is good, continue cutting bar until last cut, take and measure that for right bar end cut on shear report. - When done cutting for shift, hand in shear report and tags bundle. - Clean up around the shear. - Unloading steel trucks - Training on how to use the magnetic crane safely and responsible. - Other duties as assigned.
