Work Shift Day Scheduled Weekly Hours: 0 Summary: This position supports Mercy's philosophy of patient centered care by performing diagnostic ultrasounds and reporting the findings and diagnosis to the radiologist along with providing quality patient care to our patients. Job Description: Job Duties: - Ensures that all accurate and clinically relevant information is communicated with patients, their families and co-workers at hand offs and other times as needed. Takes all measures necessary to ensure that the appropriate and involved parties have communicated necessary information in order to allow for the best possible patient outcome. - Operates diagnostic equipment. - Produces high quality sonograms on a consistent basis following protocol - Identifies each patient and review the patient's radiology worksheet EMR for medical information that will assist the sonographer in performing an accurate exam - Prepares images on the PACS correctly prior to radiologist interpretation - Understands requirements for student supervision as outlined in the Student Supervision policy for both the University of Iowa and the Mercy/St. Luke's school of Radiologic Technology - Ensures that departm...
