Clinical Fellow

Job description

Responsible (with authority) for all aspects of the GI and General Surgery at the Facility, to include trauma call panel privileges, treatment protocols and guidelines, service policies, education community outreach, hospital executive interface, and performance improvement; promotes multidisciplinary approach to care of injured, critically ill, and emergency surgical patients. Responsible to a licensed health care practitioner or other appropriate higher level administrator of a medical or professional school of a State university. Responsible for clinical activities relating to the advanced fellowship training program. Responsible for conducting research in specialized areas of health care, and for writing reports on research objectives and results. May participate in teaching activities. May provide services under a Professional Services Agreement that clearly distinguishes services from those within the advanced training program. Must be a graduate of an approved professional degree program in the appropriate health discipline and have completed residency training within a selected area of specialization, including research and/or clinical training in specialized areas.
