Description: JOB DESCRIPTION: - Functions as the lead cage wash technician in any School of Medicine Division of Animal Resources (DAR) facility. - Cross trains and demonstrates proficiency in operation of all DAR cage wash and autoclave equipment, regardless of facility. - Submits work orders to Facilities Management or requests assistance from service contractors as appropriate. - Operates and sets parameters on autoclaves to sterilize or decontaminate caging equipment. - Ensures routine maintenance to caging equipment. - Orders and receives chemicals, food and other supplies. - Takes necessary precautions, in keeping with OSHA standards and other applicable federal and state regulations. - Ensures proper handling/storage when working with hazardous chemicals, materials, animals, and power equipment. - Provides guidance and direction to cage wash trainees and technicians. - Works independently. - O...
