Organization: SPMF-Sutter Pacific Medical Foundation - North Position Overview: Assists the orthopedic physician, and participates in the patient care plan, to include but not limited to casting, splinting, assisting in the operating room, and in the post op care regimen. Serves as the first assist to the physicians in the operating room to include joint reconstruction, sports medicine and general/trauma orthopedic surgery. Assists podiatrist in surgery and works in podiatry clinic with post op care regimen. Handles weekend and trauma calls with orthopedic surgeons. EDUCATION: HS Diploma: High School Diploma or General Education (GED) CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE: BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider: ORTHO-Orthopedic Technician certification: OR Graduate of an orthopedic technician college OR Military training as an orthopedic technician TYPICAL EXPERIENCE: 2 years of recent relevant experience.
