Overview The Department of Art + Design in the College of Arts & Sciences at Utah State University invites applications for a full-time, 9‑month Temporary Assistant Professor of Art History and Visual Culture for the 2026-27 academic year. This is a benefits-eligible, non-tenure-track position with a start date of August 1, 2026. Renewal may be possible based on performance, departmental needs, and funding. The field of specialization is open. The department seeks a dedicated and student-centered teacher who can contribute to undergraduate instruction in art history and visual culture and who values teaching in a department closely connected to the on‑campus art museum, the Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art, and the Wanless Center for Art Education & Research. Responsibilities: - Teach a 3/3 course load of undergraduate courses - Teach online sections of the art history survey - Teach upper-division undergraduate courses in the candidate’s area of specialization - Employ inclusive, effective, and engaging teaching practices for majors and non-majors - Incorporate campus resources into teaching - Contribute to departmental service appropriate to a visiting appointment Qualification...
