Job description

Overview Provides diagnostic imaging services according to accepted standards and protocols and assures patient safety during procedures. Responsibilities: General Diagnostic Procedures: - Performs all mammography examinations following policies and procedures established by the department. - Prepares and positions patients for mammograms. - Provides care and communication to patients before, during and after the procedure. - Uses all equipment properly and in a manner that minimizes hazards of electric shock, burns and extraneous radiation to patients. - Uses radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations and to ensure safety of all patients and staff. - Explains procedures and responds to questions appropriately. - Ensures that all images are clear and of good diagnostic quality, adjusting equipment as necessary. - Documents patient history, including any relevant information which might affect the interpretation of the mammogram. - Maintain and cleans the mammography equipment with the appropriate solutions. - Communicates any pertinent information with radiologists and other healthcare professionals as necessary. - Maintains working knowl...
