Domestic Violence Services (DVS) is a program within the Human Resources Administration (HRA), which provides a variety of comprehensive immediate and long-term support services to survivors of domestic violence and their families. DVS provides oversight for the largest domestic violence shelter system in the country, which provides safety and services for this vulnerable population. This network of more than 54 emergency domestic violence shelters provides temporary emergency housing and support services to over 17,500 victims of domestic violence annually. DVS also provides oversight and funding for the 24-hour safe hotline. In addition, DVS administers the No Violence Again program, NoVA, the Domestic Violence Liaison Unit, which provides counseling and intervention at the Benefits Access Centers (BAC), a Housing Unit and a Support Services Team.
