Job description

Competencies: - Oversees all waste disposals. - Trains staff in the proper procedures to maximize recycling and minimize trash disposal costs. - Ensures recycling bins are available and used in all predetermined areas. - Ensures all waste is dumped at pre-designated times into proper receptacles. - Maintains a log of what and how much is recycled, and reviews weekly with Chief Steward. - Reports recycling compliance issues to the Chief Steward. - Ensures that trash cans are cleaned on a daily basis. - Reports any recycle bins that need to be replaced. - Ensures that food waste is put through the pulper properly. - Oversees pulper use and reports any necessary issues to maintenance. - Maintains cleanliness and organization of recycling areas. - Provides exceptional customer service - Works safely, following all established safety rules and regulations - Communicates effectively with co-workers, supervisors and guests - Follows all relevant policies and procedures - Performs other duties as assigned. - Must possess high school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience - Must be able to speak, read and write English. - Previous kitchen worker experience preferred. - Knowledge of va...
