Responsibilities and Duties: Makes decisions regarding data gathering and appropriate management and treatment of patients being seen for the initial evaluation of a problem or the follow-up evaluations of a previously diagnosed and stabilized condition. Initiates appropriate evaluation and emergency management for situations such as cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, injuries, burns and hemorrhage. Performs clinical procedures including venipuncture, intradermal tests, application of dressings and bandages, removal of foreign bodies, cardio-pulmonary resuscitation and audiometry screening. Provides counseling and instruction regarding common patient problems. Completes initial history and physical examinations on patients and periodic medical assessments as necessary.
