OVERVIEW : A Survey Crew Chief is responsible for the operation of a field survey crew. Organize field work, direct crew members, maintain a safe work environment, protect and maintain the equipment and vehicles, accurately and efficiently collect field data and locating features, deliver data to the office, maintain accurate records of work and expenses. Will work primarily in the central Virginia region. DURING YOUR WORK DAY, YOU WILL: - Be responsible for the operation of field survey crews working primarily on projects in central Virginia. - Organize field work with these major objectives: - quality (accuracy, thoroughness, clarity, meet regulatory requirements, public relations) - safety - meeting schedules - meeting budgets - providing responsive service to clients. - Accurately and efficiently collect field data and locating features, deliver data to the office, maintain accurate records of work and expenses. - Requires a lot of walking outside year-round through all kinds of terrain and in extreme heat and cold.
