Department Summary The Department of Public Health and Recreation (PHR) at SJSU is a multidisciplinary academic department that awards B.S. degrees in Public Health and Recreation, and a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree. The PHR Department is one of the largest departments within the College of Health and Human Sciences. The PHR department offers a general Bachelor’s degree in Public Health and two concentrations: Community Health Education and Population Data Science. Our graduate program is a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree with a specialization in Community Health Education.
