Histotechnician Certified - On Call

Job description

We’re seeking a skilled Histotechnician to join our pathology team to work in an on-call capacity. Under the direction of the Medical Director and pathologists, you’ll perform tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, and staining—including H&E, IHC, and special stains—with precision and quality. You’ll also support test validation, procedural compliance, and lab operations. Schedule : On call - Monday - Friday, Variable start times between 3am to 7am, will work 8-10/hour shifts. Must be flexible to work an on-call variable schedule. Hiring Range: $33.88/hr to $45/hour commensurate with experience. Differentials available: Evening after 5:30pm $3.00/hr, early hours 4am-6am $4.00/hr Key Responsibilities: - Prepare and stain tissue specimens following CLIA/CAP standards - Perform IHC and special staining procedures - Maintain accurate documentation in the LIS - Conduct quality control and equipment maintenance - Mentor new staff and contribute to training - Participate in audits, continuing education, and safety protocols Skills and Abilities: - Able to consistently demonstrate essential clinical competencies for this role and license/certification. - Able to wear personal protective...
