Job description

Position: Anesthesia Aide, Anesthesiology Location: Boston, MA: Schedule: 40 hours per week, 3:00 - 11:30 pm POSITION SUMMARY: Under general supervision, assists the anesthesiologist in the set-up and preparation of equipment for surgical procedures and provides preventative maintenance on medical equipment. Assists the anesthesiologist with patient preparation and provides additional assistance as necessary during the surgical procedure. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists the Anesthesia Floor Leaders with various resources as requested. Demonstrates ability to organize time evidenced by completion of work assignments within shift. Room preparation (Beginning of Day and Turnover). Disposes of dirty items remaining from previous case Clean surfaces and equipment according to defined infection control guidelines. This includes anesthesia machine and anesthesia cart surfaces, monitoring equipment and other patient care equipment (pumps, fluid warmers and Bair Huggers). Setup of necessary equipment (anesthesia machines, airway management devices, fluid warming and pressure infusers, ultrasounds and monitoring equipment and suction canister and tubing).
