Description Shoreside Tankerman Trainee: Reports to : Field Supervisor/ and or Operations Manager Effective 07/27/2022 Department: Marine Operations Non-Exempt: The Tankerman Trainee will serve as the person-in-charge of critical operations, with the responsibility of protecting the environment by ensuring the safe reliable transfer of dangerous liquid cargo. Is responsible for performing a variety of inspections from beginning to end of transfer. Must qualify to hold a government-issued certification and tankerman certification for working aboard liquid-carrying vessels. Includes able seamen and ordinary seamen. Tankerman Trainees should expect the training program to be six – nine months. Duties & Responsibilities: - Receive and confirm orders from dispatch, facility, boat captain and report any discrepancies to Gulfstar Dispatch Department immediately. - Travel to and from assigned facility, as directed by Gulfstar Dispatch Department. - Carries all equipment form vehicle to facility to ensure that all equipment necessary to complete the transfer will be close at hand. - Wears all protective clothing and equipment, including respirator and fresh air equipment that may be require...
