The Department of French and Francophone Studies at Carleton College invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position in French (beginning September 1, 2026). Areas of specialization are open. Candidates with research in gender and queer studies, pre-colonial and early colonial studies, visual studies, disability studies, and ecocriticism are particularly encouraged to apply. Teaching responsibilities include French language and literature courses from the beginning/intermediate to the advanced seminar level, including two courses in the candidate’s area of expertise. The teaching load is 4 courses during the year, spread across three ten-week terms.
