Asset Management Technician - Roads & Drainage PG 16 - $25.91/hr MAJOR FUNCTION: Technical position that performs duties associated with (1) field inspection and data collection of roadway and drainage assets using technical inspection equipment, and (2) updating various County Geographic Information System (GIS) layers and using GIS mapping software and hardware. This position works primarily in the field. ILLUSTRATIVE DUTIES: - Performs the following duties with minimal direction from a Cartographer, GIS Technician or management of the Asset Management Section: - Inspections: Performs field inspections and data collection of the location, position, condition and history of existing roadway and drainage assets. Drives motor vehicles while performing data collection, operating field computers, mobile GIS and communication equipment. - Data Collection: Performs data collection in the field of the location, position, condition and history of existing roadway and drainage assets utilizing mobile GIS collection equipment.
