Job description

The Wistar Institute is seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to support the Imaging Shared Resource, a centralized core facility providing advanced imaging technologies and services to investigators both across the institute and externally. The candidate will play a critical role in the daily operation of imaging platforms, user training and support, experimental execution, and image data analysis. This position offers hands-on exposure to cutting-edge microscopy and preclinical imaging technologies in a collaborative research environment focused on cancer, immunology, and infectious disease research. Key responsibilities: Imaging Core Operations - Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of imaging instruments. - Support operation of confocal, widefield, live-cell, and whole-slide imaging systems. - Assist with preclinical imaging platforms, including ultrasound, IVIS Spectrum CT, and small-animal radiation systems.
