Description St. Croix Health is looking for a casual Emergency Department Technician to join our team! This position works 12-hour shifts. Casual requirement is minimum of two (2) shifts per month. Job Summary: The Emergency Department Technician (EDT) is responsible for providing direct care to patients across the age spectrum at the directions of RNs and medical providers. EDTs will assist staff in specific procedures in the Emergency Department, assist in patient flow, transport, and comfort. Will keep the unit clean, orderly, and stocked. Assures timely cleaning and turnover of patient room and of equipment that must be prepared for reprocessing. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: - Patient Care - Transports patients by wheelchair and patient cart - Assists patients with ambulation and positioning using safe patient handling techniques - Obtain vital signs and report abnormal vital signs to RN - Informs RN of patient/family observations and/or concerns - Promptly responds to patient call lights/requests - Demonstrates concern for patient dignity, privacy and confidentiality - Performs tasks with adaptations or modifications consistent with patients ages and developmental abil...
