Description The School of Education in the College of Arts and Science at American University invites applications for a tenure track, Assistant Professor position in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education. The School seeks a new faculty member to join an active research and teaching community investigating innovation, reform, and/or social and cultural aspects related to STEM education. The appointment will commence on August 1, 2017. The successful candidate will join a faculty committed to innovative and socially responsive research and teaching in graduate and undergraduate education programs. Also, the successful candidate will have a strong commitment to promoting equity in STEM education, field-based teacher education, and research that examines the conditions that influence STEM teaching and learning in under-resourced and/or high poverty schools. Teaching and learning responsibilities include supporting undergraduate and graduate programs in Teacher Preparation and Special Education through teaching relevant coursework and advising.
