Job description

Position Summary The Surgical Coordinator is responsible for the timely and efficient scheduling of patients designated for surgical procedures to be performed by NSPC physicians. Duties and Responsibilities: - Schedules, reschedules, and cancels onsite surgical procedures properly and according to established NSPC guidelines. - Obtains and records patient demographics, insurance information, and all other pertinent details accurately in new and current patient charts to guarantee proper medical care and accurate claim payments. - Communicates pre-surgery instructions accurately to scheduled patients. - Interfaces with appropriate staff to ensure a cohesive working relationship in providing patient care services. - Enters notes/special instructions needed for scheduling in the electronic medical record (EMR) system. - Effectively utilizes clinical knowledge when determining if appointment is consistent with the diagnosis/indications indicated by the provider. - Completes accurate documentation of informed consent with patients for procedures and surgeries as needed. - Provides accurate, detailed information to patients regarding test preparations, time of patients scheduled arrival...
