Job Description: Position Summary Under the direction of the director of the Comprehensive Cancer Center and manager Radiation Oncology, the Radiation Oncology Registered Nurse Navigator functions on the multidisciplinary team as an advocate, educator, and counselor for Radiation Oncology patients specifically and oncology patients in general. Radiation Oncology Registered Nurse provides nursing assessment, intervention, symptom management, and education to the radiation therapy population. The Radiation Oncology Nurse provides a coordinated, comprehensive plan of patient care to the radiation therapy patient; is responsible for delivering direct nursing care and patient education to the patient population receiving radiation therapy on an outpatient basis; and is responsible for delivering nursing care and patient education on a limited basis specific to radiation oncology needs to the patient population receiving radiation therapy on an inpatient basis.
