Shelter Support Specialist (afternoons including weekends)

Position Summary: Provide oversight to shelter guests and complete necessary paperwork, attend to the immediate needs of the guests, and encourage safe and harmonious shelter atmosphere. Essential Responsibilities: - Ensure daily paperwork is completed in accordance with procedure - Maintain shelter policy without discrimination - Assist with menu planning - Supervise common areas, dorms, lounges, clothing closet, and laundry room - De-escalate conflict and manage crises as necessary, excellent verbal and written communication - Perform daily resident/security check on guests, rooms, and exterior of building - General Office duties: answering the phone, filing, typing, record keeping, recording shift summary - Attend all trainings and staff meetings as directed - Cleaning and janitorial work as required, including laundry as needed - Keep dryer vents clear of dust and lint - Assist deep cleaning of the kitchen; assist with daily cleaning as needed - Floor upkeep, including dining room, office, laund...
