Job description
Summary: The Safety Intern helps shift the organization from a traditional certification approach to a structured, task ‑ based safety certification program by creating documentation, training materials, and assessment tools aligned with OSHA standards. The intern works with the Safety Director and subject matter experts to develop scalable safety modules for high ‑ risk tasks — such as forklift operation, crane use, confined space entry, and lockout/tagout — and gains hands ‑ on experience in safety governance, compliance reporting, emergency preparedness, and training development within a manufacturing environment. Core Functions: Task-Based Certification Development - Assist in converting current safety certifications into task-specific certification packets. - Develop structured certification documents including work instructions, qualification checklists, observation forms, and assessment criteria. - Ensure documentation aligns with OSHA standards and internal safety policies. - Coordinate review and validation sessions with SMEs (Kyle Hoffman & Brandon Smith).
