Job Description JOB DESCRIPTION: The NYC Department of Transportation’s Ferry Division seeks a College Aide for the Human Resources Unit. Under direct and general supervision of the Personnel Coordinator, the College Aide will perform analytical and administrative work to assist the Personnel Coordinator of the Staten Island Ferry. The selected candidate will receive hands on training in the City’s recruiting, hiring, and onboarding processes. Tasks that the College Aide can expect to do at the Staten Island Ferry include but are not limited to: drafting job postings, reviewing resumes, reviewing and drafting interview and hiring packages. The candidate will also be involved in drafting and revising division SOPs and Org Charts. The ideal candidate should be able to work both independently and as part of a team. Preference will be given to candidates with strong quantitative, analytical, technical and communication skills. Any experience with Microsoft Office Suite is preferred. EXAMPLES OF TYPICAL TASKS: Assists with research on the preparation of specifications of job postings and on projects connected with the hiring of personnel.
