POSITION OVERVIEW: The purpose of the Material Planner II is to analyze customer forecasts and place purchase orders to ensure that manufacturing has the right parts, in the right place, at the right time, in the right quantity to complete each day’s schedule. This includes managing component inventory levels and arranging expedites in response to customer demand changes or delivery issues. WHAT YOU’LL DO: - Develop an understanding of suppliers, their processes, supply chain & the logistics of how material ships to Gentex. - Escalate, manage, and avoid potential disruptions to Gentex manufacturing. If a part shortage does occur within production, respond in a timely manner providing an update with the resolution plan and timeline. - Release purchase orders at lead time, reschedule due dates of purchase orders as customer demand fluctuates in an effort to meet the desired inventory target. - Continuously monitor open purchase orders with suppliers to ensure on tim...
