THE SALVATION ARMY NORTH & CENTRAL ILLINOIS DIVISION: MIDWEST CORPS: POSITION DESCRIPTION: POSITION TITLE: Classroom Monitor: LOCATION/DEPT: Midwest Corps: REPORTS TO: Youth Program Coordinator: FLSA CATEGORY: Non-Exempt: STATUS TYPE: RPT: PAY GRADE: 202: PAY RANGE: $17.00 – $20.40: OUTCOMES: The Classroom Monitor assists in the Afterschool Program that promotes the vision of the Midwest Corps and the mission of the Salvation Army. The Classroom Monitor works directly with the Youth Program Coordinator in supervising the children of the afterschool program. This is a part-time position requiring evening hours. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Responsible for supervision of children in the afterschool program. - Assist the Youth Program Coordinator and instructors in delivering academic, music, or elective lessons as needed, including helping explain concepts, working with small groups, and supporting classroom management. - Give support, by your actions, to the program concepts of love, understanding and self-worth of each person. - Be accountable for the first aid and safety of afterschool children. - Serve as a model of the Christian life for afterschool children, parents...
