Transport Coordinator

Job description

Downer is looking for a Transport Coordinator based out of our state-of-the-art asphalt manufacturing plant in Rosehill to provide operational oversight of our haulage fleet and logistics functions. You’ll be responsible for the safe scheduling, allocation and dispatch of trucks supporting internal production. You’ll collaborate with Production, Contracting, and Operations teams to ensure transport activities run smoothly, legally, and efficiently, meeting customer expectations, supporting business priorities, and strengthening Downer’s reputation for service excellence. KEY RESPONSBILITIES: - Coordinate daily scheduling, allocation and dispatch of fleet and subcontractor trucks to meet production, contracting and client delivery requirements. - Ensure all transport activities comply with Chain of Responsibility (CoR) obligations, including fatigue, load restraint, speed, and mass management, while maintaining accurate and compliant documentation. - Lead safety-focused transport operations by identifying hazards, escalating incidents, and promoting Zero Harm behaviours across drivers and subcontractors. - Liaise proactively with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve i...
