Classification Exempt, 10-Month Employee: Reports to: High School Principal: Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Writing Teacher to join our team at our high school in the South Bronx. The teacher will lead instruction in Argumentative Writing for 9th grade and Literary Writing for 10th grade, helping students build strong foundational writing skills and develop as critical thinkers and effective communicators. The ideal candidate is committed to educational equity, has a passion for literacy, and believes all students can achieve at high levels with the right support and instruction. Responsibilities: Content Knowledge and Planning: - Exhibit an understanding of and skills relevant to the subject area(s) taught - Demonstrate an ability to make topics and activities meaningful and relevant to each student - Integrate available technology resources compatible with students’ needs and abilities - Develop unit and lesson plans that are clear, logical, and sequential aligned to standards and regents exams, when appropriate - Plan with appropriate specialist(s) to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students - Plan and deliver rigorous, standards-aligned writ...
