Perfusion Technician, Per Diem, MMC

Job description

- Build and prime perfusion related devices including, but not limited to: Cellsaver/Autotransfusion, Heart/Lung machine, PRP, BMAC - Ensures appropriate set up and break down of equipment in cardiac operating rooms. - Provide autologous blood recovery and biologic therapy as required - Manages perfusion supplies and equipment inventory at all AHS hospitals. - Collect clinical samples and deliver to lab for processing. - Maintain optimal communication, close cooperation, and consultation with perfusionist and physicians during delivery of services - Assist with the transport of equipment and gain understanding of new equipment or processes, where applicable - Maintain proficiency with the operation and maintenance of a variety of autologous blood equipment and procedures such as autologous cell salvage, production of concentrated platelet rich plasma - Maintain appropriate, timely, and accurate documentation including pre-procedure checklist and filing of all records - Assist in the education, orientation, and training of new staff - Supports hospitals throughout the AHS network, as needed. - Performs other duties as assigned.
