General Summary: - The Pre-Op Interviewer works within the scope of the Registered Nurse (RN) to interview and assess patients prior to procedures, to recognize underlying issues in patient history, and to document and communicate with departments related to the perioperative experience (i.e. Anesthesia, Physician’s office staff, Endo, Surgery, etc) in order to improve patient experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Utilizes critical thinking skills and applies those skills while interviewing the patient and recognizes underlying issues related to the patient’s health history and the procedure to be done. - Demonstrates knowledge and follows established hospital policy regarding patient safety measures. - Provides quality nursing care by demonstrating a thorough knowledge and understanding of medications, nursing interventions, and pa...
