Responsibilities include hospital-based patient care, teaching and supervision of Internal medicine residents and students from the Wake Forest School of Medicine, as well as some outpatient precepting in the internal medicine resident continuity clinic. The Department has 36 core faculty members and 56 residents. Wake Forest University School of Medicine will open its Charlotte campus in 2025.
