Position Overview: Prep crew laborer supports highway, grade and paving crews by performing manual labor tasks required to prepare the ground for road construction. This includes clearing, grading, leveling, and assisting with base and paving operations. Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions) Ground Preparation / Road Base Work Prepare ground surfaces for road construction, including grading and leveling subgrade and base materials. Remove debris, obstacles, and unsuitable material from the construction path. Shovel, rake, and spread aggregate, dirt, and road base materials. Operate hand tools and compactors to level and compact base layers. Set grade stakes and string lines to guide base preparation and paving work....
