Description TITLE : Driver: DEPARTMENT : Transportation: REPORTS TO : Transportation Supervisor: Shift Start : 5 A.M. Days Off : Sunday & Tuesday RATE: $18-$22 p/h: POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for delivering product to customers on assigned route. Responsible for delivering product to customers in Richmond, VA Beach & Raleigh, N.C.. REGULAR ASSIGNED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Drive the vehicle in a safe and defensive manner. - Order your route based on the manifest you receive. - Perform pre-trip inspection on assigned truck to ensure safe driving conditions and properly working refrigeration. - Complete refrigeration logs as required. - Notify supervisor is any aspect of your vehicle is not operating correctly. - Ensure that the product loaded on your truck is: - The correct product as listed on the load sheet or invoice. - Make sure the containers that hold the product are in good shape. Do not mishandle, drop, or step on any containers. - Ensure the cargo is loaded in a way to make sure it will not be damaged prior to delivery. - Prior to leaving the dock and anytime you are away from your vehicle make sure your cargo door is closed and locked. - Check the...
