Description JOB SUMMARY: Under general supervision, provides work direction to designated staff through the coordination of patients/specimens/material transfers and deliveries in all areas of the hospital by receiving requests via a multi-line telephone, operating a computerized dispatch system, generating computer reports, assigning pagers, dispatching staff, prioritizing requests, responding to inquiries and minor complaints to meet daily workflow requirements. QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience Grade 12, plus three (3) years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesAbility to communicate both verbally and in writingAbility to deal with others effectively.Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.Ability to organize work.Ability to supervise.Ability to operate related equipment.Ability to type 20 wpm.The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes.
