Physical Requirements: - Ability to walk long distances over uneven terrain - Ability to work in roadside, easement, and active construction environments - Ability to lift up to 50 lbs - Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods Qualifications: Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced In-House Fiber Optic Utility Locator to support our outside plant construction, maintenance, and emergency repair operations. This role is responsible for accurately locating, marking, and documenting company-owned fiber optic infrastructure to ensure safe excavation and prevent service-affecting damage. This is a private/in-house locator position , focused on supporting internal crews and approved contractors--not high-volume 811 ticket production. Key Responsibilities: - Locate and mark underground fiber optic cables, conduits, handholes, vaults, and related OSP infrastructure - Use electromagnetic, passive, and tracer wire locating equipment to determine accurate fiber paths and depths - Interpret OSP prints, as-builts, splice diagrams, and GIS maps - Coordinate closely with construction, maintenance, engineering, and project management teams - Perform pre-construction walkthrou...
