Orthopedic Technician - ( 260000RF ) Description Provides specialized technical support to the division of Orthopedics. Qualifications Minimum Education High School Diploma or GED (Required) Minimum Work Experience: 2 years experience in Orthopedics or related field (Required) Required Skills/Knowledge: Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs. Ability to utilize various office equipment. Ability to communicate with patients and their families of divers cultural backgrounds. Required Licenses and Certifications: Must be active member in the National Association of Orthopedic Technologist (N. A. O. T .) 180 Days . Must pass the N. B. C. O. T . certification and/or maintain their National Board Certification 2 Yrs (Required) Functional Accountabilities: Effectively performs technical duties: - Assist with the application and removal of basic and specialized bracing, plaster and fiberglass cast (i.e. pre-made functional bracing, cast bracing, spica cast, body cast, etc.) on the wards, in the clinic and in the O.R. - Assist residents, nurses, and technologist with proper application techniques in casting, splinting and traction. - Apply , modify and dismantle traction equipment. - Complete...
