Under the direct supervision of the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)—in conjunction with the Charge Nurse on the unit—the Milieu Coordinator (MC) is responsible for the daily functioning of the therapeutic milieu. The Milieu Coordinator role is responsible for upholding the Hospital’s goals to provide optimal patient engagement in a milieu that is safe and therapeutic; reduction of incidents of restraint and seclusion or personal restrictions; production of a daily schedule of groups, individual work, and activities that allow patients to reduce acuity, develop a peer community, and discharge to the community of their choice.
