The successful applicant will work on two Cycle 4 spectroscopic programs—one using MIRI/LRS and the other using NIRSpec—to observe AGN at Cosmic Noon and “restarted” radio galaxies. The ideal candidate would have experience modeling near- and/or mid-infrared spectra of galaxies, particularly with JWST. The research is in collaboration with scientists at the University of Heidelberg and may involve travel to and from Germany. This position is especially suited to candidates interested in undergraduate teaching, as the postdoc will have the opportunity to mentor undergraduate researchers and teach up to two courses per year in physics and/or astronomy. The starting salary for this position is $61,000. The successful candidate will have access to funds for relocation, computing, and travel, and will be eligible for medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and flexible savings accounts benefits as out...
